Blech.

Ew. I have been sick for what seems like ever. I've literally been laying in bed or on the couch for almost 4 days now. I am so goddamn bored. My nose is stuffed, and when it drains it makes my throat dry and sore when I breathe. My muscles hurt, my head aches, sound is amplified in my brain. I had to give a way one work shift, and turn down another which kills me right now. Tyler came home from work early on Thursday and his mom took Amelie to her house on Friday so I could get some rest. I'm feeling slightly better now but not good enough to leave the house. I'm not sure if it is time that's making me feel better, or the EmergenC that I finally got yesterday. Anyways, I think I'm getting closer to better, and I really hope I feel good enough to go to yoga tomorrow, because I had to skip it on Thursday.

On the bright side, Krista and Jason came over today and we ate breakfast/lunch from Colossal Cafe. It was delicious. And I finally got to give Krista her birthday present (which was in November...)

Tyler and I had a nice little Valentine's day. He bought me a couple boxes of Thin Mints, and I embroidered him a hanky and a T-shirt. His mom watched Amelie for the night and we went to see Black Swan. He got me a quick impromptu massage from this weird little place, but it was actually really good. As was Black Swan. It was a great little night out.

My 2 Turd Fergusons went to the zoo on Thursday while I was ill'in in bed. That little one just can't stand still for even a second.

Last weekend we walked up to Lake Hiawatha for the Hiawatha Heartwarmer. Last year we won a prize...but not this year. All Amelie wanted to do was walk through the snow, then glide across the ice rink.

We played on the ice for a while (there was a DJ playing music), then we took her down to the lake to look at the snowmen that some other people had built. Unfortunately, all she wanted to do was kick them over. One of the main reasons I wanted to take her was so that she could participate in the tots yoga that was going on, but we could not get her into the park building. She freaked out because she wanted to play outside. That's nothing new though. Usually after playing outside you have to drag her back in kicking and screaming, it's like she's immune to the cold or something. Her snowpants and mittens will be soaked through, and she'll stand by the front door trying to get back out.

Kinda like this...

Even though I missed out on most of the great weather due to my sickness, I did get to enjoy a day or two of it, and Tyler was able to dig out his camping hatchet and take a whack at the ice dams on our house.

He was out there for a while, and got soaking wet, but that dam is gone.

Damn you Minneapolis!

The City of Minneapolis has been driving me crazy. The roads are half the size because they plowed the streets 3 feet from the curbs, turning onto a a busy street is a death crapshoot since the snow piles are so high, and the none of the corners have been shoveled out so I have to scale a small hill with a toddler to cross the street.

Today we finally had the dumpster that has been sitting in the yard since August picked up. Somehow, the city managed to schedule tree trimmers to block off our street this afternoon, and at the exact same time the truck arrived to pick the dumpster up, they were trimming the trees directly in front of our house. Also, one of the large branches landed on my truck. Jerks.

Tyler had plowed all the snow from the street to the dumpster so the truck could back up into the yard, which is exactly where the tree cutting crew left all of the huge limbs and branches. Cripes. I had to go out and tell them to move the crap asap. As it happened, they were moving the crap as the truck was pulling up and backing in. So, it all worked out in the end, but got me all worked up in the process. Once again, thank goodness for Yoga, which I have on Thursday nights.

Bye Bye dumpster. See you never.

Tyler and Amelie went to Pizza Luce with the neighbors while I went to the library and got a few books for Ami about potty training. She was doing so good for a while, and now just wants to wear a diaper and pee and poop in her pants. Hopefully these books will help.

I can't wait until the snow melts. And I love yoga.
