Photoshoot!

Grandma D and I took Amelie to get some photos taken. She was hilarious running all over the studio and doing crazy things. Here are some photos:

She is already 11 months old!

She woke up last night at 2:30 am and was up for around 2 hours, but she was so cute the whole time it was forgivable. She has been getting scared of strangers (and my dad) lately. She cries and clings to me and I melt. Today I was reading a book in her room while she was playing, and she came over to me with a book of her own and crawled into my lap to read with me. A.dor.abl.e.

I got a bunch of crap done this week. My list of things to do is endless and keeps growing, but I'm checking things off left and right.

We've got some really exciting things coming up really soon!

Tuesday...

My day starting pretty crappy...literally. Cleaning up poop, twice. I forgot my sunglasses and it was VERY sunny out. I banged my head on the car door, several times. I swear, getting a baby in and out of my stupid loud car every day makes me want (not really though) a mini van. Then, somehow I ended up driving in the wrong direction on highway 5, in a city I grew up in. Cripes.

But then, we got to the Children's Museum and we had a great time.

We met Abby and Sam there and the kids had so much fun. I can't wait until they are a little bit older and can really play there.

Look at this sweet little moment I captured.

Tyler and I did a 2 mile run today to start our training for Grandma's Marathon. It was pretty easy, felt good. I'm excited about our training.

Now, I am going to catch up on Modern Family. Love that show!

Happy Valentine's Day

We are all sick. Scratchy throats, sniffles, body ache, no fun. We still managed to have some fun this weekend.

My mom, Abby, Sammy, Ami and I all went to the MN Zoo on Friday morning. She loved the fish.

Grandma T bought the kids each a toy and Amelie LOVES her new Tiger.

I worked on Friday night.

Saturday we went to Hiawatha Heartwarmer which was at Lake Hiawatha. There we free hot dogs, a raffle (yes, we won a prize), food samples, horse rides and ice skating.

We took the light rail downtown on Saturday night and had a couple beers.

Today we were able to get some dinner and have a bloody mary to celebrate Valentine's. And a martini. Thanks valentine.

This is today, I was trying to get a photo of her and she just kept running away so I would chase her. This one reminds me of Flashdance.

OMG.

I just signed Tyler and I up to run in Grandma's Marathon. 26.2 miles. I feel crazy, but it's something I want to do before I am 30. Go team Ferguson!

And a quick photo of my tiny little human. Can you even believe she can walk...

Thanks to Mario and Kai for keeping an eye on her so I could run a bunch of errands today.

Peeing your pants is the coolest.

I planted some things, lettuce, peppers, chamomile. They are starting to sprout and I think it's always so exciting when stuff I plant grows. The first photo is from this morning. The second photo is from yesterday. It grew a lot overnight!

I went to put something on the kitchen table, and when I turned back around .5 seconds later, this is where I found Amelie

I worked last night, got home at 3:30am, and heard Amelie crying. I went into her room where Tyler was trying to change her because somehow she peed all over herself. Her pajama pants and shirt were soaked. I'm not exactly sure how it happened. Looks like today is bath day.

It's still snowing!

It started snowing yesterday. The superbowl was on, we had the Stecker's and the Crow's over. I made wings for the first time from scratch. They didn't look pretty, but they tasted good. The kids played, Nicole spilled on both of our couches (haha!), Sammy cruised around without pants and the kids took turns stealing each others' sippy cups. Pretty good night!

I took Amelie outside today to play in the snow. She LOVED it...until she got a face full of it. I did not get a photo of her whitewashed face, that's just mean. I wiped her off and brought her back inside. She had a great time while it lasted.

Our place is pretty much baby proofed as long as the gate to the kitchen is closed along with the bathroom and bedroom doors. Amelie spent the morning walking around leaving toys everywhere. I put her down for her morning nap and was checking my email when I looked up and noticed this...

Abby and I took Sam and Ami to story time on Friday. They are so great when the get around other kids. Since the kids don't go to daycare, we want to get them around other kids to socialize. We also had a play date with our photographer friend and her kids last week. Since then, Amelie's walking has progressed from the testing phase, to the full blown walker. Even the difference from last night to today was amazing.

Unfortunately, she fell down in the dining room while walking in her PJ's (with non-skid feet) and hit her head on the ground. She reached up for me, crying and immediately got a big bruisy bump. I nursed her so I could put some ice on it without her throwing it across the room, but she stopped crying about 10 seconds after she started. That girl is fearless and I'm probably going to have to follow her around wherever she goes with a first aid kit for the rest of her life.

I have been meaning to learn to embroider these last few weeks. I finally started today. I am embroidering some kitchen towels as my first project, here is the first one.

Yesterday we went to lunch with Grandma D and Uncle Torey. Ami had a good time throwing food all over the floor. Never though I'd be the mom with the baby that made a huge mess in a restaurant, but I am. Sorry all. Here she is trying on Grandma's Sunglasses.

Last, but not least, Amelie in all her super hyper glory.

Thursday..

I'm so glad my cousin is doing ok. He was released from the hospital yesterday after a couple of rounds in the Hyperbaric Chamber and several days of recuperation. He was so close to the edge. It's so hard to comprehend that he was barely alive on Saturday, and now he is back home. Just to be safe, I got another carbon monoxide detector.

Amelie is officially walking. All over the place. And over everything. Tyler said tonight that she is always in 4WD. Trying to stomp over pillows and toys on the floor. Good thing we've got her in cloth diapers...all that extra padding when she falls on her butt. This kind of padding...

Look at her peeking and peering at me from under the table. She's so crazy.

Speaking of crazy, I was Wii swordfighting yesterday with the shades closed (so my neighbors couldn't see me) and I noticed a large truck/van pull up in front of the house. When I finished dominating the game and opened the shades, I realized there was a team of MPLS cops raiding my neighbors house. I'd say about 15 cops in bulletproof vests with very large guns came parading out of the house like clowns out of a little car. Some of them were uniformed and some had plain clothes. The took a bunch of guns (what looked like hunting rifles) and loaded them into the truck/van and were there all night taking pictures. We eventually saw them arrest him. I have no idea what was going on, but I sure am curious. This neighbor of mine brought us a bunch of fresh veggies from his garden when we moved in, and also raises chickens and sells the eggs to the neighborhood. Such a mystery!

Well, I've got yet another basket of laundry staring me in the face. Oh, and I made a pork roast with apple, raisin, onion and lemon relish with mashed sweet potatoes tonight. Gourmet!
