If you don't have a carbon monoxide detector, get one. Now. Quit reading and go to the store and get one.
My family and I spent the better part of this weekend in the hospital with my cousin, who is in the ICU, recovering from carbon monoxide poisoning. It was rough, but he's doing better now. Here is the story.
Now go get one, and if you have one, test it.
A blog thats started out mostly about my super-fantastic daughter, that has evolved into a blog about our family our DIY projects and my rantings.

Walking (almost) baby!
Amelie is almost walking. She takes a few cautious steps at a time. It's pretty exciting. I haven't gotten any photos or videos of it yet because she is so elusive about it. And I get so excited I just forget about trying to record it.
Instead, I can capture these moments, when she is rolling around on the floor laughing.

We are so lucky she's so adorable and happy.

More photos, less words.
Here are some photos of our last week or so.
Grandma Tracy turned 50 last week.

Playing me a song...we were taking turns.

She's got 2 teeth! She was "chewing" on my collar bone the other night.

On a walk this weekend.

This is the look Tyler gives me when he thinks I'm being crazy. I guess Ami got that from her pops.

She likes basketball better than her mom does. Look at her dunking and shooting.

And tonight we gave her steamed broccoli and cauliflower. She loved it. She has been eating a TON.

My great friend Cassie is in Aruba for her destination wedding. I wish I could have gone...Happy wedding Cassie and Nate!
Happy wedding as well to my friend Jason and his wife Vanessa, they were married in Cuernavaca last week. Wish I could have been there too.
Also, one of my cousins is going to have a baby and I'm super excited for her. Like, super excited.
AND, my other cousin Maren (aka Mario) just got engaged to her man Nick. Hooray for them!
Lots of good stuff going on.

Active baby
Amelie isn't walking yet, but figured out how to get anything she wants with a little struggle. She climbed into her toybox the other day in search of her favorite toy.

It took her a minute to get herself into the box, but now she is a pro.

Now, it's more of a toy hut. I had to turn it on it's side so she wouldn't hurt herself climbing in and out. This is also one of the reasons we got...the Baby Jail.

She actually really likes playing in it. It's a huge play yard in the living room to keep her safe when I can't pay 100% attention to her.
She just started chugging water too. Before now, she would only play with a sippy cup of water, the other night she slammed almost a whole cup.

I took her to the gym with me yesterday too. She stayed in the daycare there and when I brought her in she forgot all about me. There were too many kids there to keep her busy. I got in a good workout.
Tyler and I signed up for a Triathalon. It should be pretty sweet. It's not until August so that gives us some time to do some training.
We went to visit my cousin Amanda today, we were also lucky to see the rest of the clan while we were there. She was really entertained by the dog, and her cousins, and pots and pans and her uncle until he scared her. Here is what she looks like in Mandees glasses...

Also, here is what she looks like with a thin mowhawk.

We went to the local restaurant with Ty's friend last Friday night, this is what we saw in Tyler's beer...

I guess it's hard to see, but there is a little foam in there shaped like the US. I swear.

Happy 2010.
We spent the NYE weekend up at the cabin. On the way, we stopped at Treasure City. They have had the same old crap there since I was a kid, but I still love stopping there. It was Amelie's first time. She pretty much loved it.

I tried on some "sweet" shades. Pink and sparkly...just my style.

I loved the MN hat, she didn't so much.

She also begged and begged until we unstrapped her from the safety of her carseat and allowed her to drive the last few miles. Just kidding, she's only 9 months old. We were sitting in the warm car waiting for the cabin to warm up. It was cold as f#$* in there when we arrived...not to mention it was below zero outside. I ended up taking her into town to buy groceries while Tyler warmed the place up for us. Good thing too, because the next day it was so cold out that no one's car started.

Here is a couple of shots of the pretty driveway.

and Tyler on one of our cold winter walks.

We brought our Wii and Wii Fit, and good thing. We were sorta trapped inside for the majority of the weekend and it was hilarious watching my dad and Tyler try to keep beating each others scores. FYI: I still maintain the high score on ski jumping (even though Jeff practiced for about 24 hours straight.)
And now my handsome fiance proving his Wii worth.
We got Amelie a play yard with some of our Christmas gift money. Best. Idea. Ever. It's big and she can crawl around and stand up and it contains her and all her energy. I may have mentioned before that she got her first tooth for Christmas. Well she is sprouting a second one as well. Here is her first one and you can just about see the second one coming in next to it.

Now, I'm going to re-watch The Hangover, but I will leave you with a video of crazy Amelie.
